Class A office building – 12,000 sqm of glazed surface
An office complex in the northern area of the city was experiencing significant heat loss through the glazed facade, leading to high operational costs and temperature fluctuations in the workspaces. The owners wanted to preserve the building's modern aesthetic while reducing energy bills by at least 25%.
We conducted a detailed audit of the glazed surfaces using thermography and heat transfer simulations. Based on the collected data, we proposed a spectrally selective solar film solution with controlled reflection, which reduces solar heat gain without compromising natural light.
The film installation took place over 3 weeks, with minimal disruption to tenant activity. We applied the film to all exterior windows and those in the central atrium, ensuring a uniform visual transition and an extended 15-year warranty.
Energy consumption for HVAC was reduced by 31%, and annual operational costs decreased by €47,000. Thermal comfort improved significantly, and the building achieved a higher energy certification. The investment was recouped in less than 2 years.
